Victoria College Girls sponsor a Shelterbox
In response to the typhoon in the Philippines, Victoria College pupils Amelia Rose and Anna O’Hara, after a visit from President David and PP Dale of The Rotary Club of Lisburn, decided to raise money to sponsor a Shelterbox .
The girls organised a collection amongst their fellow pupils and parents and also raised money by selling decorated earphones at the School sale.
They attended our weekly meeting on the 20th December and confidently explained how they had raised the money and they presented the Rotary Club with a cheque for £590 to sponsor a Shelterbox
Amelia’s proud Grandfather PP John McIlroy suggested we had just seen two future Rotarians and he and Victoria College can be proud of their achievement and the support from all the girls, which should make a big difference to families whose homes were destroyed by the typhoon.
