With excitement similar to  a Ryder Cup at last we have a winner of the Tom Patton Trophy

John McIlroy defeated Frank Young in the final after several gruelling knockout rounds played over the year

McIlroy a dogged golfer with slightly less talent than his namesake had several close calls in earlier rounds but performed Gmac type escapes to battle through and overcome the talented big hitter Frank in the final.

Tom Patton was a great Rotarian who loved his golf and the Trophy was started a few years ago on his death on the suggestion of his friend and fellow Rotarian Ian Magill.
