  • Sister Act / Fusion Theatre/ Thursday 5th March 7.30

    Our busy Social organiser PP Sandra  has organised a party to go the Fusion theatre production of Sister Act in the Island Centre, Lisburn at 7.30 pm on Thursday 5th March. Sandra will be in foyer at 7.00pm to distribute tickets. At present there are a possible 31 booked. please contact Sandra re any changes

  • Lunch Meeting Friday 21st February / Speaker Neil Sutherland

    img_0826-copyNeil Sutherland’s passion for the outdoors was first ignited when,as aboy he spent every school holiday with his grandparents,who crofted in the Scottish highlands.He had alread joined the scouts and later amoutain rescue team,to which he would later become leader.When he retired in 1998 Neil and his wife Libby joined the Holiday Fellowship Ramblers, anorganisation designed to offer inexpensive walking holidays abroad. Aside fro 6 trips to Nepal,they have led expeditions to parts of the world most people only dream about. To date he has led 6 trips to long haul destinations,19 to Europe and sevreal others to mainland UK.

    VP Paul and Linda have joined him on trips to Morocco in 2013 and India in 2017

  • The Delorean Story / Nick Sutton

    Friday Lunch meeeting 31st January

    Nick Sutton  who had written the book about Delorean and was involved with the whole project fron the start to finish,took us through a short history of the financing, the production process and eventual failure of the dream of producing the Delorean supercar in West Belfast in the 1980s during the worst of the ttrouble. We were also delighted to have a Delorean at Malone for members to examine. needless to say Presiden John a Lotus enthusiast was in his element

  • Celebrating Burns at Malone Golf club

    On Saturday 25th January the Club celebrated Burns night at Malone Golf Club. Some 70 members and guests enjoyed a sumptuous meal of Scotch Broth, Haggis ,RoastBeef after a champagne reception. Sinead from Public Speaking NI provided the piper and music and recitals of Burns works.TheHaggis was pipedi and then addressed by Sinead before been served with neets and tatties.

  • The Percy French story with Dr Mike Crooks

    Dr Mike Crooks enertained the club at the lunch meeting on 17th Januarywith his love of Donegal and the life of Percy French.He took us through the life story of Percy French with examples of his art,poetry and song reciting and singing many  of his better known works. He was ably assisted by out own baritone President Elect Paul.

  • Christmas bag pack at Tescos

    Thanks to Tescos for giving the Club Community Committee under Chair Moira Wright the opportunity to raised funds through a bag pack on the monday before christmas at Tescos Lisburn

    Club members were assisted by Lisburn scouts and volunteers from Emerge Counselling Services. Through the generosity of Lisburn shoppers £2600 was raised and this will be distributed between Lisburn scouts, Emerge and our continuing support for Autism NI, End Polio img_0774 and the Alzheimers Society.  Members enjoyed the connection with th community and the opportunity for public exposure for Rotary.
