  • Christmas bag pack at Tescos

    Thanks to Tescos for giving the Club Community Committee under Chair Moira Wright the opportunity to raised funds through a bag pack on the monday before christmas at Tescos Lisburn

    Club members were assisted by Lisburn scouts and volunteers from Emerge Counselling Services. Through the generosity of Lisburn shoppers £2600 was raised and this will be distributed between Lisburn scouts, Emerge and our continuing support for Autism NI, End Polio img_0774 and the Alzheimers Society.  Members enjoyed the connection with th community and the opportunity for public exposure for Rotary.

  • Christmas Lunch At Malone

    Friday 13th December a super Christmas lunch at Malone G C followed by great entertainment provided by magicain Paul McCimg_0771ann, better known as Ormond. As Paul charged no  fee the club were delighted make a donation to his chosen charity Angel Wishes. Thanks to Moira Wright for inviting Paul and to social organiser PP Sandra for arranging lunch and to Stephen and all the Staff for their attention throughout the year

  • 11th John McIlroy Invitational Golf Day

    The 11th John McIlroy Invitational Golf Day was held at Malone Golf Club on Thursday 26th September. Play commenced with a shotgun start at 1pm with some 18 fourballs taking part. Malone Captain Michael Black made up a fourball with Lady Captain Gillian Browne, Club Hon.Sec Andrew Montgomery and Ladies Hon.Sec Maeve Toner.

    Golfers were joined by other guests at a Prize Dinner and auction hosted as ever by Gene Fitzpatrick

    The day raised a net income of some £25000 which will support Autism NI, Alheimers Society and Right for Sight charities.Over the11years the Golf day has raised some £145000.

  • Trevor Guy Bursary winner Katie McCrumb

    Katie McCrumb came through a series of interviews to be awarded the Annual Trevor Guy Bursary for 2019. Pictured with Katie are President John VP Paul and bursary orginiser PP Stephen Gilbert. Katie received the top bursary award of £500 and gave the Club an outline of her plans . She is a final year medical student and plans to go to St Mary’s Hospital London and then to Singapore General Hospital for further research into colorectal cancer.

    Awards of £250 were also made to three other QUB medical students going on electives to Chile,Cape Town and Columbia respectively.

    Jack Barron also received 3200 totravel with ‘Project Trust’ to Malaysia for 12 months.

    Rory McNieght received 3100 to travel to Costa Rica for a conservation project.

    A total of £1550 was awarded

  • A Walking Tour of Belfast

    Aidan Keane took the Club Members on a room based walking tour of Belfast at the lunch meeting on November 1st

    We also welcomed regular vistors and hopefully soon to be new members Mchael and Ann Jackson
