President John and Hazel’s at home
On a beautiful sunny afternoon on Sunday 27th July President John and his wife, Hazel and all the family entertained the members of the Rotary Club of Lisburn and their partners, for an afternoon of fine food,beverages and friendship at their stunning home and gardens.It was a great end to a great year as President and all those who attended were most appreciative of the wonderful hospitality.

Presidents Night at Malone Golf Club
A large number of Club members attended Malone Golf Club to celebrate President John’s year in office. After pre dinner drinks on the terrace overlooking the golf course and lake, on a beautiful sunny evening, a splendid buffet was enjoyed by all. Following the buffet President Elect Trevor and President John gave a resume of the year.
Paul Harris awards were then made to Inner Wheel District Chair Norma Coggins and Past President Billy Rogan.
Past District Governor Ted Grainger was presented with Senior Rotarian of the Year, 2nd VP Jim Matchett, Rookie of the Year and Gorge Christie and the International Team, the best event of the Year for the rescue box stand at the Hillsborough Garden Show

Rotary Golf St Andrews 2010
The Rotary Club 0f Lisburn golfing members returned on Friday 11 June after a very successful week at the Annual St Andrews RIBI Golf Event.
President John McIlroy won the Trophy as the leading qualifier over the two days, and Captained the Ireland Team International team, which contained two other Lisburn members, Liam Mc Cartney and Patrick Coyle.
Patrick Coyle also won a trophy for the best score on the second day.
Babara Black wife of past President Rowan won the ladies prize for the best gross score.
Unfortunately the Irish Team Captained by President John and with three of the six members from Lisburn, were pipped by the English Team by one point.

Visit of Rotary Clubs of Clifton and Brittany
On Friday 23rd April a fellowship party of Rotarians, from the Rotary Clubs of Clifton and Britanny, who are visiting Ireland will join us at our Friday lunch at Dunmurry Golf Club

Presentation of Cheque for Polio Plus
On Friday 20th November Past District Governor, Rotary Foundation Co-ordinator and Polio Plus Co-ordinator ( Zone17) Howard Caskie visited the Rotary Club of Lisburn.
After an enjoyable lunch he updated the club on the Polio Plus campaign and also on how he is putting is time in now that he is taking a lower profile in Rotary.
He continues to astound us how he finds time for work or other activities,
Adam Spence as Chairman of Foundation then presented Howard with a cheque for £4000 on behalf of the Club. This was money raised through the Invitational Golf day and through the John McDonough Golf day.

President John presents cheque to War on Want
At the Friday meeting on the13th November President John presented a cheque for money raised at the Invitational Golf Day, to Linda McClelland and Eamon Quinn representing War on Want. Linda gave us an interesting talk on the many projects that War and Want is involved in in Africa

Rotary Club of Lisburn Charity Golf tournament 2009
What a beautiful day for The Rotary Club of Lisburn Invitational Golf Tournament which took place on Thursday 10th September at Lisburn Golf Club.
After bacon rolls in the clubhouse, 18 fourballs commenced play in a shotgun start at 2.00pm.
All holes were sponsored and there were prizes for nearest the pin, longest drive.driving the green at the 18th and a competition to beat the pro at the short par 3 sixth hole as well as the overall prizes for the competition
The dinner in the evening was attended by some 120 golfers and guests and representatives of the charities which would benefit.
Gene Fitzpatrick was MC for the evening and entertained the diners in his usual style and also conducted a very successful auction.
Thanks are due to all the Sponsors, golfers and guests who supported the event and enabled the Club to raise some £12000

Revive Charity with Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children

President Sandra installs incoming President John McIlroy for the year 2009/10
Outgoing President Sandra McCabe had great pleaure installing John McIlroy as President of the Rotary Club of Lisburn for the year 2009/2010. President Sandra had signed off a most successful year for the Club with an afternoon tea for all members and partners at Prima Gusto in Hillsborough. The Club is indebted to all the hard work and enthusiasm President Sandra put into a year in which the Club has thrived.
John a property developer and keen golfer will bring great enthusiasm to his role in leading the Club forward and we look forward to another enjoyable and successful year
